No advanced stats posts tonight, but will probably have some time tomorrow while I'm sweating the final FCHL game before Sidney Crosby makes his much anticipated debut on Saturday.
Also, my lineup is pure trash tomorrow. What the hell? Everyone is injured.

My boys have caught the injury bug as well...Stamkos down indefinitely with a knee injury...Gaudreau took a Ryan Suter slash and broke a finger, Radulov has the flu...it's fun times.
Also, anytime Evander Kane wants to remember he's a former 30 goal scorer and actually put a point on the board, that would be fine. He's messing with Rich's storied history of trading away players right before they start producing.

You got Kane off of me for a rental last? year though.

No, Rich did...I traded for him from the Ales over the summer.
I had a meniscus surgery in 2008. My knee didn't feel right for about 2 years and I gained 30lb. Sorry Adam but that's almost certainly going to happen to Stamkos too.

My wife has problems with her meniscus...I'm definitely aware of how completely debilitating at random times that it can be.
I spent like 2 hours trying to find a way to set it up so I could just copy/paste the raw scores text in every night and have it output as a workable data set, but that proved difficult with so many variables in how the scores are reported (ie, OT, TIE, brackets or no brackets around negative scores, blah blah blah) so I stuck with just manually adding scores from every night. This doesn't let me track head to head records which is what I was trying to do in the first place. Alas.
Also, as it relates to this particular game - I toyed with dropping Hagelin and picking up a random $1 player, and calling up someone disposable from the farm like a Brett Ritchie or even possibly just going for it with Ehlers... decided my lineup was too ****ty after I heard O'Reilly wouldn't be playing...
But now that I'm tied (and losing in OT) late in the evening, I wish I'd taken the gamble and added players to give myself a better shot. Bah.
I'm sure I will eventually... but there's not really a rush to do it (and I'm somewhat constrained cap-wise).
Like, I'd rather wait it out because he doesn't add a ton of marginal value to my team right now... but if he gets hurt later in the season (particularly during the FCHL playoffs), I'd rather have not wasted a year on an injured 20-year old.
Sharp at 4.25 might end up being that guy, but not worth giving up on yet - returning from injury soon, and has only played 4 games this year...
Streit is an expensive d-man, but he's been quite good for me...
Spurgeon, I guess, but he's still a >0.225 D-man right now, and has potential for more given recent history.
O'Reilly is a 0.500 player that should be better... can't lose him.
Hagelin ($2.00) probably ends up being my drop option and I'll be able to replace him with either Ritchie and Duclair, or just Strome or Ehlers.
If I dropped Hagelin and Sharp, I could add Ehlers, Strome, Ritchie, and Duclair... that's predicated on the last 3 guys actually reverting to their expected form at some point this year.
Anyways, I've got my angles planned out, just a matter of getting the timing right. Outside of this particular game, I'm not really in need of much forward help for the foreseeable future, with O'Reilly, Sharp, and Bjugstad all set to return from injury this weekend.
He sure is... but he's only my 6th best forward if we're basing it on current year stats (and he doesn't have anything better than that to position him higher...).... and only marginally better than forwards #7, 8, and 9... and my #10 forward was a 0.650 player last year.

Adam and Dan take over the league lead with wins. Jay extends his win streak to 4 games, the longest currently active. Red hot John stumbles to a double loss coming in 10-1 in the last 11. Ice cold Josh puts an end to his 4-game winless streak. Longest active losing streak - Rockets at 3. Flyers winless in 4 (0-3-1), longest active streak. Whalers continue to yoyo following up a win with a loss. Rockets overall have lost 6 of the last 9. Flyers 2-8-1 in the last 11. Steve has run the gamut lately, last 5 game nights: T, W, WL, L, T. Rockets' Crosby era starts Saturday. Good night.
In my quest to get the first two overall picks I was trying to work out what the nut result would be in the matchup between me and Steve. I think a tie might have been just about perfect.
