did you guys buy it thru cable or Im guessing thru streaming online?

I always buy it thru my cable package, because it was same price but included NFL as part of sports package. Now, NFL no longer offered, same price whether I get NHL gamecentre (online) or center ice (cable for me).
I like having it on cable, so much easier to flip back and forth between games.

I'll be makling up my mind today, last night proved to me I cant illegally stream all year, its way too frustrating and not clear enough.

I get NHL Centre Ice for free thru my work. I have no idea why, lol. I think it's because my cell phone is paid thru work, and then because of that.

I've had it online the last couple years. It's pretty great but I think I've had localized ****ty streams. Seems it's just me and not everyone else.

It was free with my internet the last two years but I have to pay this year. In a free trial right now (I suggest checking that out, Arp) and the stream was very good last night. I'll make a decision when the free trial is up on whether I want to spend $230 or not. But I don't really have another option. I'd need to get cable tv to get it via cable lol.

I stream for free via my cell phone plan. Most of the time the feed quality is fantastic. They really need to do something with the dead air during commercials.

I have no idea. I just had to enter my Rogers info. Maybe it's only for Rogers customers? It's all very opaque, Arp.

I recall there being like a free October in the past. Do you have the NHL app? Can you try signing in however and try to watch a game? (You can do an archived game to see if it works)

I got Game Center this year for the first time since I cancelled my cable in the offseason.

I just split it with a couple buddies because they don't track IPs or have a max # of simultaneous streams yet. It works great if you have fast internet.

Heads up for everybody.

I put in my lineup for tonight a couple of days ago. I went on today and all my players are on the bench. Not sure what happened.
Maybe a Yahoo reset for the start of the season. Who knows

Are you sure you didn't put your line-up in for fantasy football? And today, checked your line-up for hockey? They're different sports so you wouldn't have the same players I believe.

Yeah, he's looked really good. I'm a little upset to have traded him, but it was part of the Crosby deal, right? And he was a huge piece in the title, so really it looks like it may work out for both of us.

Goalies are such a great part of this league, that complete random luck element really adds to the enjoyment 🙄

that's really beside the point. Nightly goals against is just far too random to play such a massive part in the league. Just feels so far removed from the general premise of all the other fantastic stuff that we have in this league. Heard a few people say if it's not broke don't fix it but it really is broken.

Anyways, gg Jeff, heck of an offensive performance.

That may be a little harsh, so I apologize for that, but I still haven't seen a good reason to remove them, and it feels like you're latching on to one of the most extreme outliers in recent history to further your view, which I personally think would have a major negative effect on the league.

Curious, what do you think goalies are worth?

What I mean by that is, on any given night, would you say your goalie is more or less important than your best player? Who has a greater effect on the outcome?

Don't worry, I didn't think it was harsh and I appreciate the sentiment of your post. maybe broken is the wrong word but it's - in my opinion - certain a hugely overweight impact on scoring compared to our ability as managers to impact on it. I'll eventually come up with coherent wording to express what I'm trying to get at.

I don’t think any of us anti-goalie people needed to see that crazy game to come to our conclusions. I just don’t get any enjoyment out of the goalie system, and it basically amounts to a spreadsheet problem we all have to solve each year.

The thing I asked myself this year, would it bother me as much if it were a higher buyin league? I don’t know. It just felt like work to do the goalie piece (because I am certainly not going to just phone it in).

I don't know, but goalies are a part of hockey, and I get enjoyment sweating them on game nights. I don't know how to quantify it (and similarly, anti-goalie folks are probably in the same situation).

It's worked for what, 10 years now? More if you count the AHL that we copied... the impacts of goalies must not be that out of line.

I don't know. I mean, if a 10 GA game doesn't have an impact on the result... are goalies really that impactful? (and yeah, I get the irony of using an outlier after accusing you of the same)

I get what you're getting at, I just don't find it compelling enough to warrant a change. (Speaking as one vote, not the commish)
