****en Caps game is outdoors isn't it? I wonder if I should bump Ovy down a peg. Game may even get pushed if the winds are too high or whatever.

This is a ****ty situation for our playoffs.

Here's my suggestion - since we're not at the point of anyone being eliminated or anything - if for any reason the game gets pushed to anytime before Game 5, it continues to count as Game 3... the scores are just delayed.

This maintains the integrity of the game, since I'd imagine most of us planned our lineups, trades, signings, etc based on the game being part of Game 3.

So, for example, on the small chance it doesn't get played on Saturday night, but does get played Sunday. Game 3 and Game 4 will be going on simultaneously.

This is very, very unlikely to happen, but I wanted to put this in writing before (and allow opportunity for disagreement, people pointing out inconsistencies with past rulings, etc).

I agree with that line of thinking Zach. Considering that no one can make any roster moves other than farm callups at this point.

I would also say that lineups are frozen the moment the last regularly scheduled game begins on Saturday. (So like, for whatever reason, if Ovechkin hurts himself in warmup playing in a delayed game on Sunday, I can't call up Carl Grundstrom (up from the SEL on an emergency recall for this game only) to replace him.

I kind of thought rosters were basically frozen once you post them on the forum

Oh yeah, that's right. Sort of. I think we still allow substitutes Yahoo-style, but the OT order remains the same (ie, if I subbed out Kessel for a worse player, he'd still be my 2nd OT player) - that's locked in as soon as the first game starts.

I'd lean more toward just doing what we have always done with cancelled/delayed games. they count on the day they end up taking place, and get wiped from the original day, tough ****, life's not fair etc.. I don't see a really compelling reason to make special accommodations in the case of a playoff game.

Though I didn’t outright suggest it, the AHL is mostly copying my above suggestion.

“Since the Leafs - Caps game is outdoors this weekend there is a chance for weather reasons that the game doesn't get played on Saturday but instead is played on Sunday. If the game is played on Sunday we will include it with the Saturday game and not Sunday.

Now if it's cancelled entirely and not played at all this weekend teams can put in a lineup in the AHL forum that covers no Leafs or Washington players being available to them since we can't wait to have a result for our playoffs.”

I like this solution.

I agree, don’t think we change things for playoffs. The only exception in my opinion, would be the rare instance that the games cancelled would put the games played below 6 For the day.

Things getting worse...

Ovechkin game up in the air... Eberle missing tonight's game... Gaborik DTD... Pacioretty left tonight and didn't return... yikes.

Go Kessel!

in the AM games, Duane has: Giroux, Coutourier, Killorn, and Methot. so far they have combined for 2 assists.

I have Victor Hedman. So far he has 2 goals and 2 assists.

I feel like I'm running pretty good so far this series.

Gonna need the fade of a lifetime to win this one. McDavid, Zuccarello, Draisaltl... Need to keep them at 0.5 or under combined.

I still have a period of Ovechkin and Goligoski to go, too.
