We could just split the pot 4 ways? (sort of a worse case I guess)

I'm fine to split the cash but I want a shot at a title.

I'm guessing the season is going to be cancelled

From The Athletic Article on the EPL they estimate that the UK is two weeks behind Italy and 7-10 days behind France and Germany.

I'd wet finger an estimate at 4-6 weeks before we see the other side.

If I pass on my 25% of the cash, can I have the title, with no asterisk?

I really wanted a title this year, been gunning hard last couple of years, and as all can see, pretty much sold off any futures for a shot in this year and next

Of course, its all irrelevant compared to whats really happening, but I am also really hoping we get in our playoffs somehow. I dont see it though

Honestly. I think they’ll call the season in the next week. No playoffs. Void it. Reports here that we are 14 weeks from the peak of the virus. If that’s the case, it takes us to June and it will take a couple of months from peak to get into a manageable situation again.

^ yeah this isn’t a 2 week thing. At least you’re testing in the UK. We are barely testing. That’s only going to prolong this because we have no actual idea what the real number of cases are here and people are too stupid to not realize the seriousness of this and are going about their day. We haven’t even come close to the peak here.

You know the only good thing that may come out of this is that it may be the thing that finally ends the Trump presidency (due to the way he’s handled it, not death!).

I don't care how much an idiot he is. I just want everyone to do whatever they can to help. I don't want to hear any politician or anyone complaining about anyone

If anything, America may fall ass backwards into universal health care and UBI as a result of this.

If the situation has been made worse by an incompetent politician or political body how do you fix it without calling it out? I know it feels like everyone has cried wolf with over the top rhetoric on both sides for the last 5 years, but this is a legitimate emergency that has been completely botched. It's appropriate to call it out.

Lol trump blamed Obama this morning. You might remember him, the guy who held office 3.5 years ago. Created a pandemic response team that someone disbanded when he took over. Someone who has a budget set for the CDC that someone reduced by 80%. Yeah if we blame anyone it should just be Obama.

Echo the comments about this being at least a month-long quarantine. I think a good guess is at least two months, some think three. China went into a policy of quarantine on 1/23/20 or thereabouts, and they are not out of it yet. The same story will play out in every other country, with the alternative being, you wipe out your hospital capacity as it quickly spreads (and your mortality rate gets awful). The sooner we quarantine, the shorter the duration, or so I have heard. If we do what Italy did, which is so far what has occurred, we're in deep trouble.

> The sooner we quarantine, the shorter the duration, or so I have heard

Nah.. the total cases will go down but it will be spread over close to double the time. What it does mean that peak (concurrent) cases are like 1/4 - 1/3 as high.

> If we do what Italy did, which is so far what has occurred, we're in deep trouble.

Projections for the US are currently are worse than Italy but I think the sports leagues shutting down has helped awareness

Though, not surprisingly given Brexit, once again Boris/UK is going full retard (something like get all of the Youth sick -- develop heard immunity -- and then let the pensioners back out)

The best thing for NA right now is that awareness is way higher than it was in other countries at the same point and I think it is actually changing behaviours

Ya but I've read of people throwing Quarantine parties (you know like Hurricane Parties) so there's a ton of people still not taking it seriously.

But, at least in Ontario, events are getting cancelled all over and some workplaces are starting to encourage wfh more.

There's a movie theater and a huge entertainment / arcade thing near my place, drove by it tonight. Jam packed, like any other saturday. Agree completely, no seriousness here.

I’d had to go into work Friday night and I’m across the street from the movie theater. It was maybe 30% full. It probably helps that some theaters are only letting in half of what they could per showing.

Stay well everyone. Remember washing hands with soap is more effective than hand sanitizer so don't panic if supplies run out. Rubbing alchohol and tissue is more effective than sanitizer wipes.

by some dumb luck+timing, a combination of me coming home from duty free's last few months, impulse purchases at LCBO, and a couple of my drinking buddies having a dry 2020, I am more overstocked on whiskey than any other 1 thing in my home.

I don’t drink much at all anymore but really thinking hard about getting into full force. There’s about an 80% chance school is closed for the rest of the year here. A couple teachers o know from schools around me have been told to come and collect their things as they don’t plan to finish out the year in the school. That makes it rough depending on when Liz will have to go back. Right now she’s designated to work at home and they only go in for their weekly meeting. My job cannot be done at home so we are working. Only chance we get sent home is if Boeing shuts down and it sounds like they have zero plans to shutdown. So drinking sounds like a plan.

i'm probably gaining a pound a day here. lol. very little exercise during this pandemic. That's not abnormal for me in the winter/early spring... I'd get my short walks to/from transit to work, but that's about it. Usually by now though, I'd be biking home from work at least, so I'd start getting back into softball shape. But even now it's so cold out still that i probably wouldn't even be biking yet, so there's not really any excuse for gaining more weight than usual. Lol. It's all the extra beer I'm drinking I guess.

I’ve lost 5lbs without trying. Not eating out at lunch everyday I think is the key.

Im at home 90% of my time now, and there's not much to do other than eat. No sports to play, no real movement apart from walks to the fridge, nothing to do but get excited about the next possible different meal. I have no idea how others arent gaining weight. I eat when Im bored.

my cooking repertoire has been upped though, so theres that

My brother...I'm right there with you sir. I haven't gained a lot, but a solid 5-7 pounds as a result of quarantine. Apparently man isn't meant to augment his diet on Amazon.com food.

This pandemic has been complete and Rutherford bull**** to be honest. The house is at a low point these days. Jin has not adjusted well at all. He hates homeschool, he’s been acting horrible for weeks. Rude, tone of talking back, whining at atomic levels all day everyday. He hasn’t slept since late March. He used to go to bed at 8:30 and get up btw 6:30-7. He now falls asleep btw 9-10 and will get up btw 2-5. Once he’s up he won’t and or can’t get back to sleep. He’s developed an intense anxiety during this where he can’t ever be left alone in a room without losing his ****. So that makes the 2am wake ups hard. My wife usually ends up sleeping on his floor while he lays there doing whatever. That got hard for her so I have now started sleeping in the couch so that when he wakes up she brings him into our room so she can still sleep in the bed. Add on that both her and I are still working full time at home while trying to homeschool a raging 9 year old. We’ve tried a ton of stuff but I’m to the point where once this is over he may need to go see someone. Just spent the last hour watching him have a melt down because he wanted a family movie night and Liz chose Princess Bride because it’s Mother’s Day and he’s been an ass to her all day long.

So I’m having a fuuuuuuuuuuuun time. :/

He just realized that it’s 32 min till bedtime and his sitting next to me whining about it. No one said a thing about anything. Lol.

So I’m going to sit here and work on my top books list.

fck, thats rough Steve. Hope things get better for you soon.

I'm not at those levels, and I'm very lucky that my son is handling all of this very well and keeping himself busy, but its been awful for me in other ways.
I am really not someone who likes to be home all the time, and its eating away at me.

I only mention it so it doesn't come across as "my life is fine", when I try to show concern for your situation.
And would like to show concern without trying to minimize or one up your stress.

Does he have a Nintendo switch? My gf and I started to get into the most random fights during this lockdown. I got her a Nintendo switch and animal crossing. Basically best thing ever now haha. It occupies most of her time and she’s in a much better mood. We barely fight anymore and I have to give the credit to Animal Crossing. Also I never play it; so she doesn’t have to worry about sharing an island (in the game) with me. She says that’s a blessing haha.
