Hands down the most insane night of hockey in FCHL history last night to close out the 1st round. Congrats to the Blindsides, BlackDevilHawks, asdfjkl; and Broadway on advancing to Round 2.
That was both crazy and fun to watch play out last night. Tough luck to all first round losers, every series could have gone both ways. Congrats to blindsides, broadway and asdfjkl; for advancing.
Sometimes you can't even write this stuff up. I'm never getting the image of that desperation shove of the puck from behind the blue line by Alex Tuch, through Tage Thompson to the point for a blast from Rasmus Dahlin, off the shinpad of Zadorov and past Levi out of my head. 20.7 seconds left for Buffalo to only lose the game by 1 instead of 2 but ultimately knock the best team I'll ever field in this league out in the first round. Stranger than fiction, lmao. :)
That whole game between Ollie and I was a series of body blows, his team would go up a bit, then mine would come back, I'd go up and he'd come back...final minutes we erased a 1.5g deficit on two EN goals in the span of about ten seconds in two different games and then the Alex Tuch blind shove to the point...haha.
I was think about this today. The fact it was on an ultimately meaningless Sabres goal is just the worst. At least you can console yourself with our presidents trophy. It’s super tough to win that over a full season.

And it’s not even close to the most disappointed I’ll be in the Sabres this year, lmao.
Yeah, President’s Trophy is nice and I’m proud that we accomplished that. It’s hard not to do the “what-if’s” though, I’m sure we all do it. What if I hadn’t lost the top seed in the second tiebreak to Jay last year, would we have won the title? I’m pretty sure it’s yes. What if we had been the 4 seed this year, would we have won the title? I’m not going to set lineups because I don’t want to know the answer. :) Will just try to rebuild and go from there.
