Remember when we used to do lineups in the game day threads?
Sidney Crosby
Steven Stamkos
Patrick Kane
Logan Couture
Max Pacioretty
Kyle Turris
Dan Boyle
John Carlson
Brian Campbell
James Wisniewski
San Jose Sharks
I was just comparing our rosters against Dobber's stat predictions for the coming year Ollie, you've got me whupped on forwards, I've got you whupped on defense, and our combined rosters are something like 6 goals and 19 points apart (your favor).
I think this is for sure the most unbalanced I have ever been in a single year but it's a gamble. Kind of wish I'd heard of McDavid a couple of years earlier as would have been an ideal time to start a rebuild haha!

My team can still change pretty dramatically between now and game one.
I'm leaning more and more to calling up Dougie Hamilton to bolster the defense... and I need to call up at least 2 other players as well... 2 or 3 of Bjugstad, Coyle, Morin, Barkov, Strome, Sheahan, Jenner, Connolly at forward, should bolster my depth, if I guess the correct players who break out, lol.

Fwiw, Coyle is a top 6 forward, points should reflect that this season. Bjugstad and Barkov are likely FLA's top 2 centers for a long time, though their ceilings are a bit limited until the rest of the team isn't brutal. For some reason ESPN is predicting Connolly to be a 0.400 scorer this year... no idea, but I imagine he spends most of the year in Tampa. Jenner could be a 25g guy, maybe even 30. Morin is the weak link here, as he's old and hasn't done much. He's also the most likely call up here, as he's an easy drop if he's doing nothing. This is his make or break year.

In terms of peak, I probably order that list: Strome, Barkov, Connolly, Bjugstad, Coyle, Jenner, Sheahan, Morin. But sure, dramatically wasn't the best choice of word. :)
Ill knock your players, but just cause Im bored and not because Im trying to be an ass...
Coyle: top 6? ok, but what does that really mean to us. He is clearly #6 on that list, and could easlily be overtaken by Nieds. Also, he prob wont get much PP time. His chances of cracking 45pts dont look too good. Im gonna say 43.
Bjugstad: He was the top scorer on Fla last year!!! The guy was their best player!!! (ooops, he had 38pts, which is pretty much Matt Cullen territory, so I wont get too excited that he is top 6 there either. 44pts
Barkov: Gonna be unreal. But prob not this year. still, he might flirt with 50. (you should have drafted Nichuskin. Who has him?)
Strome: See Barkov. But deduct 2pts because he will get hurt around game 55, and miss 6 games. So, 48pts.
Connolly: "ESPN is predicting..." you lost me right there. Its time to google "NHL predictions" and take any random bloggers words over theirs. PLEASE! (28pts)
Jenner: "30 goals". More ESPN? If he gets 30goals this year...well, I dont know what I would do, but it aint happening. He'll be around 40. POINTS!
Morin: If he has a great camp, shows the coaches an extra gear and really pushes himself to the limit, he will........be a 3rd liner. These are the kind of risk-reward guys you win pools with! (38pts)
Sheahan: God. Kids a stud. He will be your MVP of the playoffs someday. Got nothing bad to say about him.
Enjoy!

Since we're making predictions, I'll try to make some for these guys...
Coyle will get 48 pts, I think. Majority of them coming at even strength, because you're right, he's not the main PP guy there, yet.
Bjugstad could cross 50, so let's say 52. Barkov should be slightly better, so let's say 55.
Strome, yeah, 48 seems about right for him, I think his big breakout is next season.
Connolly probably plays 60+ games and I think, a good result for him would be .5 nhl ppg... so, again, we aren't that far off here, 30 pts. I also think his NHL breakout season is next year, but he does cement himself as an NHL regular this year.
Jenner's 30 goal total would be my peak for him, not this year. I think he can get 45 pts.
Sheahan, to me, is an unknown. He's not supposed to be great offensively, but has done well in the NHL already. I think, he hits maybe 40 pts next year, with a probably peak of like 50.
Morin is a 3rd liner, yeah. Big scorer in the AHL, but can't crack Chicago's top 6. Will take a bunch of injuries for him to be relevant. He mostly just gets promoted as an alternative to dumping him right away, but probably dumped later and replaced with whichever of the farmies listed above is having the best season and can help/fills spots on key game nights, etc.
So yeah, there's a lot of ~50 pt potential here, nothing groundbreaking, but a lot of very cheap, flexible depth options for me, which was my main point originally.
I think it should be pointed out that 45 pts (20g, 25a) is still better than 0.400 pool ppg, which puts them easily in the top 9 on the average team... so very pool-viable. The obvious hope is that one or more of them break out into 0.500+ territory.
I thought the farm teams were mine, but it only let me re-enter with one. Maybe I made up an email address for the rest? I dunno. Farm teams are annoying. I wish I didn't have to deal with them.

Ok... I added one at the fchlfarm1 e-mail, but that's all I seem to have access to. The ZachFCP is my normal account, and the hotmail is one I use every day, so I've signed up for both of those when I first got the e-mails.

It looks like you have two teams under 1 email account, the zachhenderson one.
FYI - I have 3 former #1 overall picks, 4 #2 overall picks, at least 1 #3 overall pick, at least 1 #4 overall pick and at least 1 #6 overall pick. 7 are playing in this game :)
