Man, two games in a row against no-goalie opponents. Must have done something right this year for Santa to be so good to me. Can't imagine what that might be.
They should have totally followed the Crop Dusters strategy of lucking into Connor McDavid and they wouldn't be in this position. Really nobody to blame but yourselves boys.
I've been thinking about that lately too. I'm absolutely dreading the next downswing I have. My first one was soooo long - building from basically nothing as an expansion team. I'll need to find a way to do it without it taking 3 years of 1st round draft picks (which, in hindsight, were mostly busts* anyways).
*Ryan Strome, Brett Connolly, Ryan Murray, probably more... all currently useless. The 1st rounds I got who were good I got the year after I made the playoffs for the first time... somehow regressed, got the 3rd/4th overall picks, got Ehlers and Nylander, and now that may be directly responsible for a successful season, god willing.
Dubey, do you think you'll feel regretful if Eric Fehr and Tom Kuhnhackl bump their heads together in the warm-up tonight and a forward is needed on an emergency basis, and Jake Guentzel is still at his hotel waiting for a ride back to Wilkes-Barre, and he ends up rushing over to the rink and playing instead and scores 2 goals, as he is known to do, but you don't get credit for them in the game tonight because you dressed an empty slot instead of taking a random shot in the dark with an injured/scratched forward with literally zero cost or risk?

taking into consideration the odds of the above scenario occurring measured against the energy I saved by not clicking my mouse 2 additional times today, I think my decision to leave him on the bench is pretty neutral EV

Blindsides (-1.0) vs. KC Reserves 2.0 Iowa Crop Dusters 7.5 vs. Injured Reserve 2.5 Whalers 6.5 vs. The Ales 2.0 Newmarket Hurricanes 0.5 vs. BlackDevilHawks 0.0 Toronto Rocket 3.0 vs. Lethbridge Golden Seals 0.0 Tulane Flyers 0.5 vs. Broadway (-0.5) Lost Cause (-0.5) vs. asdfjkl; 1.5 Royal Oak Fearsome Beavers 0.5 vs. BlackDevilHawks 0.0
2 teams won with no goalies (NMH, ASD)
3 teams managed to win with scores of 0.5 (NMH, ROFB, FLY) - BDH was the loser in TWO of those games.
Crop Dusters set new league-wide season high with a score of 7.5, including 10.0 on offense.
KCR extends their streak to 9 wins in a row.
Blindsides losing streak is extended to 9.
League records for both winning and losing streaks are 14, so we're not quite into sweat territory yet
Whalers continue to be hot: 7-1 in their last 8
LGS loss streak up to 6
Blindsides have 3 straight games with scores of (-1.0) and lead the league with 10 total negative scores.
Broadway winless in 6 (0-5-1)
Crop Dusters unbeaten in 5 (4-1-0)
Flyers have a 3-game winning streak, BDH has a 3 game losing streak
Lost Cause are still clinging to the final playoff spot after a 2-7 slide
asdfjkl; is currently the only Division Supreme representative in the playoff picture, and actually has fewer points than all but the 7th and 8th seed among playoff teams.
KCR (9 straight wins) finally caught also-red-hot IR after the latter gets a rare loss (10-2 in their last 12) - both teams tied atop the Tugnutt with 40 points, 2 behind the league leading Rockets.
Crop Dusters just 2 points behind the Reserve(s) twins in what is shaping up to be a hell of a division title battle.
I thought hard about splitting my goalies for double header, but I didn't want to create problems and decided not to rock the boat. I would have won a game.

I think you got the result you wanted in both games
What about a team as bad as the 14/15 ROFB? 26 pts in 70 games. A team would have to have fewer than 30 points this year to be that bad (pro-rated by points per game). Currently last place Ales would have to finish 3-43-1 to finish with 29 pts.
Likewise, in terms of best record ever, Dubey's 111 pts in 70 gp... a team would need 127 points in 80 gp to top it. The Rockets would need to go 43-3-1 to get there.
Also of note in that history doc... My two division titles came when I finished 5th and 6th in the league. Hoping to improve on that this season.
