I have a 9 hour layover in Philly on the 31st. Should I go to try to find Mike? My original plan was just to go eat cheesesteaks and see the Liberty Bell or whatever other **** is there.

Bradenton (Tampa). I added the layovers on purpose in Philly and Washington because going to Florida is not pleasant but I feel guilty if I don’t go visit my Dad even though he rarely makes an effort to visit me. Lol. So I wanted it to be more interesting. For the same price as any regular one-stop flight I just have a 10 hour layover in cities with direct, fast transit access from the airport to the city centre so I can explore a little bit. And eat real cheesesteak.

Also I hate wasting my vacation days visiting ****ing suburban ****hole Florida. But again, guilt trip. I tried to get my dad to meet me in Mexico City instead but he wouldn’t do it.

I went to a real philly cheese steak place when I visited two years ago. Great, on par or better than any other philly place I've visited. There's a place called pepperjax in Lawrence, probably the only equal.

There’s a couple places here that are fine. My favorite one closed. .

My biggest beef is with the cheesesteak that all the random diners and chains sell is it like defaults to all these peppers and mushrooms and onions and that’s just not a Philly cheesesteak. It’s steak and cheese - whiz or provolone. With or without onions. Easy.

So I’m gonna go to either Pat’s or Geno’s when I first land and probably try one of the non-touristy ones before I go back to the airport lol. “Whiz witout”.

Well done Zach. I'm all about making the most of trips to figure out other possibilities. Like you said, if you're already flying to Florida, why not see Philly on way down?

Did I ever tell you guys about the time I flew from Florence to Minnesota cause... **** it, McDavid was in town and it wouldn't cost me any extra on the flight back home for work trip?

Then my crazy ass friends drove 16hours from Toronto to meet me for the game and 1 night

philly on the way down, DC on the way back. Really aiming for all the Pens rivals in one trip. Not to mention league leading tampa. Lol
