Royal Oak Fearsome Beavers vs. Whalers Iowa Crop Dusters vs. asdfjkl; Toronto Rocket vs. BlackDevilHawks Injured Reserve vs. Lethbridge Golden Seals Nickle City Nerf Herders vs. KC Reserves Blindsides vs. Newmarket Hurricanes Lost Cause vs. The Ales Broadway vs. BlackDevilHawks
It would kinda make sense to just assume your lineup to whoever is playing on nights like this. Like, you couldn't even field a full team, so it's not like there were any ambiguities. You just get 0 for your OT player. (I realize this would cost me the game.)

That’s what I did...put the guys who should play into the active lineup.
Royal Oak Fearsome Beavers 3.5 vs. Whalers 2.0 Iowa Crop Dusters 6.5 vs. asdfjkl; 3.0 Toronto Rocket 4.5 vs. BlackDevilHawks 1.5 Injured Reserve 10.0 vs. Lethbridge Golden Seals 1.5 Nickle City Nerf Herders 0.5 vs. KC Reserves 4.0 Blindsides 3.0OT vs. Newmarket Hurricanes 3.0 Lost Cause 1.0 vs. The Ales 3.5 Broadway 5.0 vs. BlackDevilHawks 1.5
What if each team maintained a list that ordered their Fs, Ds, and Gs and then if someone misses a lineup, whoever does the scores (or more formally, me or Duane) put together the lineup simply by picking the top available players. I would say include injured/scratched players as well, just as some sort of penalty, and to avoid people gaming it, say they aren't sure if someone is going to be scratched but they only have 1 other option or something, so they "miss" their lineup knowing they'll get the players who played... make sense?
Anyways, then I'd say as a penalty you don't get an OT player, so you get a 0 for the purposes of determining a tie or OT win/loss.

I think that's a very good idea.
I think we should probably omit the G's part of it though.
Might get a bit irritating with all the add/drops and trades that happen over the course of the season, that's something to think about as well. It would be another piece of league maintenance you would have to do, unnecessarily.
I think I looked at my team yesterday, but assumed there was no game because I had such a weak lineup. I should of plugged guys in anyways.
This is why I try to post the gameday threads as early as I remember so people can see those, but I didn't get the Wednesday one up as early as I wanted. Speaking of which, we have a game Friday... lol

Some of us do. I'm playing the Blindsides and it's not a Thursday, Sunday or Monday.

That seems like a lot of work; more for whomever is doing the scores than the person who should have set their lineup in the first place.
I noticed that Yahoo has a programming API -- if I ever figure it out for personal use I could expand it to everything.
