was keeping an eye on it for my weekly work keeper, where I basically just set my lineups by figuring out who plays the most games... back to the bench, Mrazek, Point and Sergachev. Lol.

What's the source on that? They specifically say in the NHL release that the Thursday game is still on... it wouldn't surprise me, but odd they'd announce it if there was a likelihood of being postponed.

I find it interesting, and there's probably an explanation - i.e. different circumstances leading to it, but it's fun that Carolina gets their games postponed because of a COVID scare, while the Caps best players just have to sit out for 4 games because of a COVID scare. Obviously the NHL felt it was the Caps being irresponsible, since they even fined them like $100k or something. Wonder what they actually did.

The four players in question were caught hanging out in a hotel room together, that's why they were individually suspended rather than the team having to postpone games.

I guess it's not the same kind of bubble anymore, but if they're all shoved onto the same bench and dressing room, what's the difference?

Dunno, but according to the league, there is one. Road team players are to be in their assigned rooms by themselves, no exceptions. Only allowed to group at team designated events, and they have to wear masks at all times unless they're actually on the ice or eating/drinking something. The hotel party was a mask-free affair.

I’m really pro-restriction, pro-mask, pro-anything with regards to Preventing Covid. But I think it’s ridiculous that the players spend all day together, play hockey together, eat meals together, ride the bus together, get tested every single day, aren’t allowed to leave the hotel or go out anywhere, yet they can’t hang out together in their hotel rooms.

A hotel room is more enclosed than most of those places. The argument could be something like a bus is absolutely necessary for game logistics but hanging in a room is not. You're right that at that point the players have been in close contact a lot, but I guess the less the better?

We know small indoor spaces are the worst so there is an instinct to reduce any interaction in them regardless of what else has occurred.

My thoughts are exactly what Dave said (im very pro protection, BUT in this case).......why not rooms when you think about the rest of the time, but then Richs point made sense.
I get it now. They're just trying to be that extra level careful

You can tell by everything happening today that JStaal brought it to the whole team, and that some of the guys are actually sick, not just testing positive. Appears Teravainen is sick and will miss a 'few' games.

I've got our game as such:

BDH - 5.5 (Landeskog)
LC - 3.0 (Couture, Monahan, Pacioretty, Parayko)

Gonna need some help that I'm not too sure will be coming, but we'll see

Wow...I guess all I needed to do was challenge them. Lost Cause come roaring back with a hat trick from Pacioretty (Max Hatcioretty?) and the goal from Couture.

Score is now

LC - 6.0 (Couture, Pacioretty, Parayko)
BDH - 5.5 (Landeskog)

Lost Cause has OT.

That's the final score. Couture and Pacioretty scored the final three goals of the night to take the win.
