I've intentionally tried to build my depth to include decent players on as many different teams as possible for my Fs and Ds this year, when maybe the correct strategy was to just load up on players from the North division

That sort of played into me pulling the trigger in McDavid and Draisaitl. They felt more insulated from risk.

My roster has 17 inactive players and 9 guys actually playing hockey. Of those, somehow I was actually able to get six forwards into the active lineup. Hronek is all by himself on defense though. Gambrell is benched and Lehtonen doesn't have a game tonight. That's everybody. We're like the Texas State Fightin' Armadillos over here.
Thought about picking up a D or 2 for tonight but decided against it
Not ready yet on pulling the trigger on buying out a cheap contract like Butcher or Kassian just to free up a roster spot for a D that probably will never score on a game night. Might do that eventually though
