Did we ever discuss giving some kind of home ice advantage to the higher seeds?
man would it ever be brutal to be the higher seed and lose a game because of OT home-ice nonsense because it happens to be game 3, 4 or 6.
in the AHL, we have a side game called champions league, where it's 4 divisions of 5 and teams get promoted/relegated each year... anyways, in the playoffs, for that, first round is best of 3, finals is best of 5... but the higher seed wins all ties. It really rewards the high seed and comes into play more often than you'd think. I'm not sure if I'd want it for the regular league playoffs though. I'd rather reward good OT-order setting/good players I think? I dunno. Could be swayed.
Gonna be the Rockets with home ice advantage over Broadway it looks like. And Steve, despite the second best score so far tonight, falls behind the Ales and will face the Whalers.
